I just recently signed up for STD this year since it was offered to me at work. I unexpectedly began suffering from a joint problem.

I had all the necessary paperwork filled out for the claim. I was questioned by Dearborn 3 times in one day about the information my doctor provided to them. I asked them if they received my paperwork, I was told yes. I told them then I didn't understand what the problem was since they received the necessary documents and furthermore to contact the doctor if things were not clear.

They tried to make an *** out of me, saying because I signed up for STD this year, that they needed to check back 12 months of medical records to see if I had a "pre-existing condition ". They said they were going to pull a years worth of medical records on me to check about any prior reports made to a doctor. They wanted THE ER doctor name, hospital name/#, my doctors name, treating doctors name, etc. They told me there was a good chunk of time unaccounted for, and why.

I told them the doctor who had been treating me did not help me, so I went to a different doctor. They wanted that Doctors information too. They said they would be sending a pre-existing form in which I need to answer the questions provided. I had told them many times that day to call my Doctor treating me.

They don't want to listen to what you have to say. They keep on talking fast in hopes they don't have to hear your voice trying to explain something to them. They try to make you seem that your injury is one you created or that you are putting on a front. Just imagine, this is only in one day of speaking to them.

Oh, they like to put words in your mouth and try to twist things to their liking. I can only imagine some of the battles fought out with them. I have been reading unfortunate, mishaps. Many of us are working people who have hit a wall because of illnesses, etc.

We are not on the Welfare system. However we are being treated as such. We paid in for the insurance but are not receiving what we signed our contracts for. This company makes you upset, then they wonder why you cuss at them.

They fail to provide customer service as they say they will. I think we should all get together and go on 60 minutes and file a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT for the neglect against us. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Please report them to the BBB IN your State, Attorney General, LAWYER, TV STATION, ETC. They are discriminating against the person's who qualify for assistance.
